Our guide has made up this page as a example walk, this and his other walks can be changed to suit the requirements of your party. We begin our journey from the center of the former capitol city – Veliko Tarnovo. A city drenched in history and circled by the most astonishing nature. This place was an inspiration for our predecessors to turn it into the most powerful capitol during the Bulgarian golden era. Remains of the wars and former glory of this marvelous place are still intact today.

We continue through the “ Samovodska Charshiq “ street. This was the heart of city during the “ Rebirth – Era “. Hardworking craftsmen where laboring from early morning till the late evening. Even today you can see the art of the handmade rugs, blacksmithing all sorts of knives and the hand made guns and copper pottery is still passed down from generation to generation, keeping the secrets of the craftsmen alive
At the end of the merchant street we reach the “ Varusha “ neighborhood where we begin a 30 minute trekking to the top of the hill which is highest point – (350 meters) In front of us is the “Yantra” river and the area called – “Dervent”.
Most of the nearby hills where used as watch posts in the past and remains of such can be seen. From here on is a light 30 minute downhill and we reach a nice thick forest with streams, wooden bridges and a variety of plant life.
The trail is relatively easy and the beauty is worth the effort. There are options to have vehicles take you back to Veliko Tarnovo or another trail may be offered for the benefit of the most eager trekkers.

The final destination is the “ Preobrajenie through a shady forest where the remains of story to tell. |
